Coalition to Protect EMS, Inc. is a recognized 501(c)(4) entity organized for social welfare purposes including, but not limited to education and advocacy on issues related to emergency medical services in Massachusetts. Massachusetts has a modern emergency medical services system that invests in technology, state-of-the-art equipment and qualified 911 personnel. There are more than 720,000 emergency / 911 ambulance transports every year in Massachusetts. Citizens of Massachusetts rely on these services to reach them quickly and transport them rapidly and safely to care facilities in an emergency.

Coalition to Protect EMS will focus its efforts for the foreseeable future on two primary activities:

  1. Educating the public about the importance of emergency medical services and the threat posed by insurance reimbursement cuts in this area, through creation of facts sheets and informational content for the ProtectEMS.org website and other publication and distribution channels and letters to the editors of high profile publications; and
  2. Supporting legislative proposals through engagement in direct lobbying of state legislators and grassroots public advocacy, and opposing any bills, proposals, efforts and campaigns that adversely impact emergency medical services.
